UK: Aldi UK redesigns its stores for its global 'Project Fresh'

Discount Retail Chain Aldi UK has long been winning awards for quality, innovation and disrupting the UK grocery market. Tight focus and an ambitious growth strategy has delivered over 7% of total market share in the UK.


Aldi UK asked UK based CADA Design. CADA Design is a pioneering F&B designers focussing on strategy, branding & interior design. It made a new Aldi Fresh store concept to be rolled out for their “Project Fresh” transformation programme. This included a period of concept creation, prototyping and testing, and then design development, prior to moving into the current roll-out and delivery programme.


Each Aldi store has its own specific, localised requirements, and also have to balance Aldi’s core messages of provenance and value. Each week, multiple Aldi stores are opened or transformed, so high pace and accuracy are essential requirements in delivering the necessary graphics and implementation plans.
