Turkey: File Market is preparing to abolish cash payment in stores

Discount Retail Chain BİM's gourmet market brand in Turkey File Market will abolish cash payment in some markets and serve only with credit and debit cards.


File Market has officially announced that it will abolish cash payments in some of its markets and will only accept payments by credit and debit cards.


In the statement made by File Market, "Dear customers, as of 08.07.2024, payment will be made only with credit/debit cards in order to provide you with a more practical, fast and hygienic shopping experience for purchases made in this store."


BİM's gourmet chain, File Market, plans to make similar changes in its other branches if this pilot is successful.


On social media, there are various reactions to this new policy of File Market. Some customers welcomed the change. Others criticized the situation as "restrictive".
