Aldi Espana has announced the opening of around 50 new stores in Spain in 2023, which represents an acceleration of its expansion drive in the country, following the opening of over 40 stores in 2020 and 2021 respectively.
Growth will focus in the regions Galicia, Balearics, Canaries and Asturias and will include the opening of Aldi´s first store in the autonomous city of Melilla in North Africa.
Aldi ended 2022 operating 394 stores in Spain with a total sales area of over 440,000 square metres, 11% more than a year earlier.
