Discount Retail Chain Aldi Spain will buy nearly 40,000 tonnes of fruit from Spanish suppliers throughout 2024 to distribute among its stores as part of its commitment to local products.
The discounter has highlighted, in a statement, that more than 65% of the fruit and 85% of the vegetables it sells in its stores are of Spanish origin.
According to Aldi's Fresh Products Observatory, up to 79% of Spanish families take into account the origin of fresh products, while for more than half (62%) it is a determining factor in their weekly purchase.
