Russia: Russian hard discount chain Blizkiy opens 100th store in Far East

Far Eastern network of hard discounters "Blizkiy" reaches a milestone by opening their 100th store this week. The discount retailer plans to open at least 24 new stores for this year.

Within 2 years, the Blizky food retail chain has grown from 9 to 100 stores.

According to the CEO Vladislav Grebenyuk Grebenyuk the number of customers in the network increased by 40% in 2022 compared to 2021. A new type of consumer has appeared - "a new economical one". Such customers want to maintain the quality of consumption, but understand the limitations of their budget, so they try to spend less, says Grebenyuk.

The retailer's points are located in five cities of the Far East, including Khabarovsk and Komsomolsk-on-Amur. Blizkiy is part of the Nevada Group of Companies along with Samberi hypermarkets and supermarkets.
