Nigeria: Hard discounter Bokku Mart opens 25th store

Discount Retail Chain Bokku Mart (owned by Nigerian Atreos Ltd.) opened last weekend its 25th store in Lagos.

The copy-cat of the Nigerian Aldi seems to be successful in the largest economy in Africa with more than 210 million inhabitants. Bokku Mart operates its concept on 200 - 250 m2 and it covers about 350 commodity essential grocery products.

Discount concept Jara opened their first store in 2019 successfully. The Jara concept differs from Bokka Mart, as the latter is a basic discount concept while Jara operates on 800 m2 with 2,000 SKUs, serving take-away food and offering a wider range of fresh on-spot-baked bread products.
