Morocco: Egytian discounter Kazyon enters the Moroc market and challenges BIM

The Egyptian hard-discount chain Kazyon is inaugurating its first store in Mohammedia, Casablanca area on Saturday 14 October. About 40 stores more have been planned to open thsi year.

Kazyon is one of the largest discount supermarket chains based in Egypt. "This is a 100% subsidiary of Kazyon Limited UK. Egypt is a sister subsidiary," founded in 2014. The group has more than 700 stores in Egypt. The discounter successfully raised $165 million in April 2023 to accelerate its expansion into the African continent.
