Discount Retail Chain Lidl (owned by the German Schwarz Group) has really come up with something special for a few days now. For Lidl's 50th anniversary, the discounter has designed its own textile collection. In the well-known Lidl colours blue, red and yellow, colourful tracksuits (tracksuits), tops, shirts, shorts, fanny packs and shoes, among other things. So far, these are only available in the online shop. In addition, retro products from the 70s, 80s and 90s are returning to stores as special offers. A real hit for the discounter, even if unfortunately many items of clothing were sold out the next day after the first rush. The promotion was actually intended as a one-time and limited offer. It is not yet clear whether there will be a reissue, but some articles should now be available again.
Can fashion be a sin?
As always with new or unusual ideas in the trade, there are also critics of LIDL's action. Some see some items as fashion crimes, others as iconic clothes for leisure, which is what it is supposed to be. The fact that consumers are embracing the idea can also be seen from the fact that some textiles are already being sold many times over on Ebay.
Lidl clothes are buzzing! Tracksuit for women, which was 19.99 euros in the online shop, is auctioned on Ebay for a proud 120 euros...
Example: The men's casual shirt is not yet available again in the Lidl online shop (as of 7 June). On Ebay, the men's shirt, which was originally sold for 9.99 euros, is offered for 49.99 euros, which corresponds to about five times the original price. The tracksuit for women, which was priced at 19.99 euros in the online shop, is also being auctioned off on Ebay for a whopping 120 euros. For the sneaker in Lidl colors, sometimes up to 100 euros are required and for the socks 15 euros.
It is also very positive that the prices of the offers are really very cheap. The LIDL sneakers in sizes 41 to 46 cost 19.99 euros. In addition, however, there are also women's rubber boots in blue or yellow for 14.99 euros (sizes 37 to 41). White and colorful socks are available for just 2.99 euros. The men's shorts with Lidl print can also be a fun gift for only 7.99 euros. Casual shirts also for 7.99 euros, tracksuits for 19.99 euros. In addition, there are also rain ponchos with a hood for 12.99 euros and a hit for 4.99 euros are also the sunglasses with 100 percent UVA and UVB protection with a small Lidl logo.
The fact is, you (woman) should not argue about fashion tastes. Each and every one of them, as he pleases. The fact that most of the items were sold out after just one day speaks at least for the discounter. In addition, the prices are affordable for everyone and, according to LIDL, even come from sustainable cotton cultivation. We can certainly look forward to more exciting promotions and surprises from LIDL this year.
